2008 Midwest Church Camp

Northfield Christian Fellowship desires to see many families attend Midwest Camp 2008 from July 21 - 27. NCF is responsible for the Junior Dept. teaching and activities this year. The speaker for the "2006 Fall Women's Retreat" will be Myfanwy Saunders. Myfanwy is the director of Women's Ministries for Peoria Rescue Ministries in charge of The Women's Pregnancy Center and Esther House.

Bible Studies for Spring Semester 2008

1) Stepping Up – author Beth Moore –This is a journey through the Psalms of Ascent, which explores Psalms 120-134. Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the Jews and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. You will interact with Scripture in new ways, and gain a new appreciation for the life of faith as a journey to greater fellowship with and worship of God. This is a 6 weeks study that will be covered in 12 weeks, to enable a more careful examination of Scripture and interactive time together. There are DVD's with this study. 2) Believing God - author Beth Moore- Based on Isaiah 43:10, Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith expolores what it means to believe God. Through studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others from Hebrews 11 as examples of persons who believed in God, Beth encourages women to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him. 3) Choosing Victory–overcoming defeat - author Kay Authur. An inductive study of the books of Joshua, Judges and Ruth. Do you long to immerse yourself in God's word but find it difficult? This inductive study series was created for you. God's precepts, promises, and purposes are made clear in each lesson as His truths unfold before you and take shape in your life. This particular study looks at the tough battles that God's people faced. Often defeat looked sure, instead these people experienced incredible victories, all because they followed God's path to guaranteed success. 4) Shepherding a child's heart - author Ted Tripp AND Creative Correction - author Lisa Whelchel. This study will include two 6 week studies. Shepherding a child's heart - Focuses on how to speak to the heart of a child. Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child's heart in the path of life. Creative Correction - When correction is done creatively, it's more rewarding both for the child and for the parents - and it can be more effective at producing long term results.
