The Future of the Cabin |

The Cabin Ministry continues to thrive with young people from across Central Illinois attending the program each Saturday night. It is our goal to maintain this ministry for the youth of Central Illinois. Unfortunately, the Cabin facility itself has not kept up with the ministry’s success. For the past ten years we have been exploring many options related to the Cabin facility. Several issues including space, a deteriorating structure, and neighborhood concerns have caused us to seek the construction of a new Cabin facility. In early 2006 we purchased several acres of land west of Tremont just off of Illinois Route 9. Our intention, is to, once the necessary support has been raised, to build a new Cabin facility on this land. The Cost Currently we estimate that the cost of the new facility including necessary land improvements will be approximately $300,000. Therefore, we are currently seeking monetary donations to help us construct the new facility. In addition, in an effort to defray our costs we would gladly accept the donation or discount on building materials and labor that can be used within our building plans (any savings of this type have not been figured into our cost estimate). Donations We kicked off our fundraising efforts with a special program on December 2nd (while recovering from a record snowfall) and have already raised over $125,000. Considering the large amount yet to be raised any donations would be greatly appreciated.
